Ms. Dawn DeMauro

I am excited to begin my second year as a Sawmills Elementary School WASP. I look forward to working closely with you and your child to propel them to grow.  

I am a native of Caldwell County and attended Appalachian State where I received a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, obtained my Certificate in Education, and a Master's degree in School Administration. I taught Math and Business at Freedom High School for two years before moving to Cape Coral, FL where I taught fourth grade for eight years. Upon returning to NC, I taught 6th Grade ELA and Social Studies at Gamewell Middle for five years and then served as the Middle Grades Social Studies Instructional Facilitator for CCS for five years.  I spent three years as an Assistant Principal of West Caldwell High School.

When I have free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, baking, knitting, outdoor activities, music, and enjoying time with my grandchildren.  My immediate family consists of two daughters Ashtyn and Kendal, my son, Jerry, and chocolate lab, Presley. 

I can't wait for our year as we Sail the Seas of Success and make Sawmills the best in the county!
